Srinagar, Kashmir: plan a photo visit
Lake views and garden colour work best as two relaxed parts of a Srinagar day. The tulip photographs are archival; flowering and garden access vary with the season.
Suggested time: two days. Open destination map
Key sights and photo ideas
- Dal Lake — Photograph boats and mountain layers from permitted shore viewpoints.
- Nishat Garden — Look for the relationship between water channels, terraces and hills.
- Shalimar Garden — Use garden paths and tree canopies to frame quieter compositions.
A suggested itinerary
- Day 1: settle in and explore the Dal Lake shore; arrange any boat trip locally.
- Day 2: choose one or two gardens, allowing time for lunch and transport between them.
Travel and photography tips
- Ask permission for close photographs of boat operators and visitors.
- Confirm a boat fare and route before boarding.
- Do not book a trip around archived tulip photographs without checking the current bloom and opening dates.
