Agra, Uttar Pradesh: plan a photo visit

The contrast between red sandstone and white marble makes Agra an absorbing architectural stop. Keep the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort as the main sights and leave space between them.

Suggested time: one or two days. Open destination map

Key sights and photo ideas
  • Taj Mahal — Look for the garden axis, marble detail and changing light.
  • Agra Fort — Explore the courtyards, gateways and views from permitted areas.
A suggested itinerary
  1. Day 1: visit the Taj Mahal during a confirmed entry slot, with a meal and rest afterwards.
  2. Use a second half-day for Agra Fort rather than racing directly between both in midday heat.
Travel and photography tips
  • Check current opening days, entry rules and permitted camera equipment directly.
  • Keep bags light for security checks.
  • Give archways and carved details as much attention as the main facade.

Until the next somewhere.
